Following the completion of the New Soldiers Field, Ben set up a full time design studio in Shanghai.?? Working with a group of multi-lingual designers from all over the world, Ben Wood STUDIO SHANGHAI has helped transform the urban landscape of modern China. Studio Shanghai¡¯s first project in China was Shanghai Xintiandi, a commercial cultural entertainment district with rebuilt traditional Shanghai Shi Ku Men architectures. We recently helped the Shanghai American School to complete their Puxi Campus, New buildings include a Black Box Theatre, Central Administration Complex, an Aquatic Center, and the Center for the Performing Arts. As well, we completed master plans for resort communities in Lijiang and Shangri-la, both in Yunnan Province.
Studio Shanghai¡¯s current projects include: Shanghai Rock Bund project (located at the north Bund), ¡°Xintiandi¡± projects in Chongching, Wuhan and Hangzhou, master plan for Xizang Road Taipingqiao District in Shanghai, Shanghai Pudong mixed used Project, three large residential communities - Cambridge Watertown, Cambridge Forest and Westwood Green, and a riverside high-rise complex in Danang, Vietnam.
In the Fall of 2005 Delphine Yip, a long time associate, became Ben¡¯s partner.? Delphine is a graduate of the Harvard School of Design and is responsible for many of the Studio¡¯s most notable projects.
No matter what the project is, Ben Wood STUDIO SHANGHAI strives to explore new relationships between form and function, and hopefully offer the users a fresh new way to experience space.????? |
